The Parachuting Parson

The Parachuting Parson tells the story of a former Curate of St John's, George Parry. He joined the Royal Army Chaplains Department in 1941. After serving in Africa for nearly two years he returned to the UK and was assigned to the newly created 7th Para battalion.

He parachuted into France on D-Day and was killed defending wounded soldiers in the action to secure and hold the Pegasus and Horsa Bridges.
