How are we filled with the Spirit?

Pentecost season is upon us in the life of the church. In the bible, we read that at Pentecost, the disciples were ‘filled with the Spirit.’ When you read the book of Acts, time and time again, they encouraged new disciples to pray that they also will be ‘filled with the Spirit.’

Femi Oyesiku

Christopher Oyesiku requested flowers on the High Altar for the 30th April, the nearest Sunday to 2nd May, in memory of his wife Femi on her birthday.  The arrangements included red roses which were Femi’s favourite flower.

Bell Notes

Let’s start with a celebration, in that two of our ringers ran and completed the London Marathon. It was Sherry’s first marathon and although she belongs to a club and does a lot of running. Obviously, she was worried about whether she would complete it – well she did and now has run a second marathon.

Bell Notes

So, it is the end of a bell-ringing era, an end of part of the history of bells in the U.K.    We have had two Bell Foundries for a number of years; there did used to be more. One is John Taylor’s of Loughborough (founded 1784) and the other is Whitechapel Bell Foundry in –well guess where?
